Wal-Mart Puts Parcel C Up For Sale

The Friends of Hercules are pleased to learn that Wal-Mart has announced it will sell the property it
currently owns on Parcel C.  In the city plan for the land directly across from the Bayside and Baywood
neighborhoods a small grocery store and shops would serve that residential community.  The anchor store would 
be no more than 64,000 square feet in size.  The Friends have defended that concept over the past several years.

Wal-Mart has never modified its plans to build a large store there, even though they purchased the property
with the knowledge that small local shops were what the citizens had requested for that site.  For the complete story
